More catching up. I really need to get better about this. =)
Wed March 11 - Late night at work as every Wednesday is. It’s usually not a scrappy related day but my free stack from DCWV came. They had a promotion where if you watched their infomerical on the new papers coming out, the first 1000 people got a free stack. It’s such pretty paper =) and you can’t beat free!!

Thursday March 12 - My new door handle came!! W00t! I started to replace it by myself but then I couldn’t get it pried out of the car door. So I had to have Josh finish it. It’s so nice to have a door that opens properly! It’s the little things in life isn’t it? ;-)

Friday March 13 - Friday the 13th! Nothing scary except for seeing this ugly mug on at stack of magazines out at Queen Creek. At least the message is a good one. Enough is enough. Hush already and quit saying the country is going to fail. That kind of negative crap does nothing to help us get out of this mess. The DNC had a great contest last week to come up with a slogan for a billboard. “America didn’t vote for a Rush to failure.” Brilliant. =)

Saturday Mar 14 - Nothing major going on. It’s a nice quiet day after a 7 day work week. Spent the day just chillin at the house. Josh spent a good chunk of the day playing games with his BFF Eddie up in WY. =) Here they are playing UT 2009. =) I’m not much of a gamer these days, but when Diablo III comes out, I am all over that. =)

Sunday March 15 - Another quiet day. Josh and I spent some time with each other just chilling and chatting. He then went off to work on his computer and I sat down to read my new magazine that came in the mail. =)

For the last week or so, my ankle has been bugging the crap out of me. It hurts. No idea what I did to it, it’s just sore. I was hoping it would go away on it’s own but no such luck. So Saturday I broke out the brace. 4 days later, still wearing it. It’s slowly getting better. Doesn’t hurt quite as much, but still not 100%. Times like this I wish I still had a good pair of boots - works a bit better than sneakers / loafers.
Btw - the cake? Total hit.

Long day at work. Long day at home for Josh. To top it off, I already committed to making sugar for a birthday tomorrow at work. (And another one for Friday!) I love to bake - I really do. But tonight, I am just drained. Issues deploying Goodyear, long drive home - it feels like Wednesday even though it’s Monday (Thanks to the 7 day working stretch) and I have a ton of laundry waiting for me. :-P I had to figure out what to bake. My original plan was a strawberry cake. But I was missing way to much and the shopping list would have been huge. So instead there is a Fuzzy Navel cake cooling off waiting to be iced. Much shorter shopping list. =) Just need some OJ, Peach Schnapps and some orange extract. Never needed orange extract before. For a moment, I was afraid Fry’s wouldn’t even have it. But tucked away in a tiny box, there it was. Todays picture? The spice aisle. ;-) I love this aisle. Assuming I had more space and a little more imagination, I would have one of everything. Instead I have about 1/2 (or close to it) Spice is something we are not afraid of in this house. Love that. =)

Paper or Plastic?

I had to work this weekend. On Saturday, I helped give a presentation with Kim at Litchfield Park about how to take pictures with you digital camera. Kim did the technical side on the camera stuff, I did the portion about “Now you have all these pictures - what do you do with them?” It was a great success. Started out with 15 people, we bumped it to 20 since we had a waiting list and ended up with 23. Unreal. All but 2 of the reviews were postive - those 2, said it was somewhat helpful. Guess they were more advanced than they thought.

Saturday, my car door latch snapped. However, it still worked. Today when I got to work, I can’t open my door and it looks something like this. So now I have to pull a total ghetto move and roll down my window to let myself out. I found a site online where I ordered a new handle for $20 with shipping. So hopefully, this will only last a week or so. Looks pretty easy - how hard can one screw be?

Off to bed. =)

Wednesday Josh got a chance to clean the yard up. Yea! Still needs to break out the weed eater, but it looks awesome even without that. =) Even the palm tree that kept trying to eat my car as I pulled out of the driveway has been beaten back to a normal looking level. hehe =)

Off on Thursday and Friday this week for the weekend shift. So I spent a good chunk of the afternoon and most of the evening sitting down and starting to make kits. I ordered 50 sheets of chipboard off Ebay, trimmed it down to 6x6. Tackled 2 stacks of the new DCWV paper - Tahiti - to make this mini book. I’m teaching a “how to” class at the Litchfield Park Library in May. We’re going to make mini-books for Fathers Day. Should be fun! Started on my sample tonight - Just got it edged with some white paint. I’ll start putting the pages together tomorrow night.

Today, slept in and worked on my stacks some more today. Got them all in bags and made some borders to put in the kit too. I need to find some other embellisment type things for this. Perhaps some ribbon and buttons. We’ll see. Anyhow, noticed yesterday that the tree out front is starting it’s annual puff ball mode. This will last a few weeks and they’ll all fall into the yard and turn it orange. Who says the desert is boring? =)

Ok. I’ve been super bad. Almost 2 weeks and nothing! I know. Life got in the way. Here is the last 2 weeks in one post. It’s going to be long. You are warned! =)
Feb 19th - Welcome to the jungle. The yard jungle that is. We usually get a rain spell in Feb and this year was no exception. Of course that means that the weeds go haywire.

Feb 20th - Dinner at Melissa’s. Melissa invited us, Jason and his GF Barbara and Leslie from work over for the most delicious veggie lasagna, chicken and chocolate cake. The food rocked, the conversation was awesome and we spent hours chatting away. Good stuff. =)

Feb 21st - Josh cleaned off the coffee table. I love this guy. =) He cleaned the table and I broke out the wipes to get the rest of it off. Tardis of course then proceeded to slobber all over the table. Thanks bud. I’m sure the table needed that extra polish over there.

Feb 22nd - This weekend I am on a cleaning spree to get the house ready for scrappy weekend. I’ve been putting off cleaning for several weekends and I HAVE to get it done this week otherwise when everyone gets here on the 27th it’s going to be a total disaster and we’ll have no room to sleep or play. I took most of the day on Sunday and scrubbed the kitchen from top to bottom. Even dusted a few areas. Tardis has this strange thing with things that he’s unfamiliar with or hasn’t seen in a long time. Simple things spook the living crap out of him. Today’s offender? The feather duster. Yes. Little do we all know, the feather duster is going to kill us all. He was petrified of the darn thing. Move it towards him and he’d bolt. Strange dog. This is as close as he got and then quickly ran again. Tomorrow, who knows what the mystery object will be.

Feb 23rd - remember that huge pile of laundry and clean coffee table? Well now we have folded laundry on the clean coffee table. =)

Feb 24th - The first buds on my fig tree are popping out. Here’s a shot of the only full leaf I could find. The others are in various stages of popping out. It’s super tiny - maybe about the size of a dime at this point. So cute. =)

Feb 25th - The punch list of crap to get done prior to Friday. My list is freaking huge. I got it all done though short of all the laundry. But I got the bedding washed! That’s important! =)

Feb 26th - Part of the punch list - clean the living room. I also got a wild hair and finally hung up the Dali print that has been down since we put up the magic bookcase for all our scrapbook stuff. I couldn’t find the picture hook box so I just ripped the other one out of the wall and popped it in above the couch. Couldn’t get the picture hooked though. Had to get Josh to save the day on that one. Just couldn’t get it in that little hole. :-P

Feb 27th - My friend in Tx (Damien) sent me a thank you card and cute bunny for helping him get his wireless printer going. It was a very long process - but I eventually got it going. Would have been so much faster had his OS been up to date and allowed remote help functions, but that’s ok. I got it working. Yea! The card was super hilarious. The inside reads “if the whole world got in touch with it’s feminine side.” To funny. =)

Feb 28th - Day 2 of our scrappy weekend extravaganza!! Dee spent Friday night over at my place and got a TON of stuff done. Including this super cute mini-album she made as a gift for a co-worker. She’s due at the end of the month and is expecting a little girl. It’s such a cute book. Their last name is Waitt and she used that play on words for the title. Stephanie from SERL came over on Friday too but she couldn’t stay. However, we got the scrapbook bug bitting her again - so hopefully she’ll come out and play with us again. I got the mini album done for my Nana that I need to ship off and I got my Singapore pictures sorted. All 180 of them. (What was I thinking?!) I got 3 LO’s done - hopefully some more finished later this week. It’s going to be a long process getting that trip scrapped. We totally have to do this scrappy weekend again. It was supposed to be the WHOLE weekend but that didn’t work. But even if we can only get a full 24 hrs, we get so much done that I think we’re going to try and make a regular event of it. =)

March 1st - No matter how many times I say “I’m going to bed early tonight because I am tired.” it almost NEVER happens. I get caught up in something, a magazine, reddit, scrapbook boards (most common) - just never seem to get in bed early. I always pay for it in the morning....

March 2nd - Cute little bunny hanging outside by the back door of the Campbell branch today. Days like this I wish I had my good camera - could have zoomed in a lot closer. I tried to move in closer but he bolted. Oh well - he’s still cute. =)

March 3rd - Today I had to go to Agulia, AZ. If any of you have been there you know how far it is (almost 2 hours) and that there is NOTHING out there. Blink and you’ll miss it. The drive is quite long and rather uneventful. However, the scenery is quite pretty on cloudy days like this where you can see the cacti and the mountains in the background. =)

Whew!!! Did you make it this far?? If so, thanks! =) Hopefully I never have to post this many at one time ever again. It’s amazing how fast it gets out of control and behind. I will try to be better. I promise. =)
